Vacation Bible School (VBS) is one of the most anticipated weeks of the summer at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Open to everyone from age 3 through adults, VBS brings our church and community together for a lively week of Bible teaching, worship, games, crafts, meals, and meaningful connection. At its heart, VBS is about helping people encounter God’s Word in a joyful, welcoming environment.
Community Outreach: VBS creates a warm and friendly entry point for neighborhood children and families, including those who may not regularly attend church, to experience the love and hospitality of our church family.
Religious Education: Through creative themes, memorable lessons, and age-appropriate teaching, children are immersed in Scripture and introduced to core Christian truths in a way that is engaging, practical, and easy to remember.
Family Engagement: VBS also strengthens relationships between church volunteers, youth leaders, children, and local families during the summer break, creating opportunities for lasting connections beyond the week itself.
Each year, the church is transformed with imaginative themed décor—whether it is a jungle adventure, an outer space journey, a Wild West setting, or another creative theme that captures everyone’s attention from the moment they walk in. Daily lessons focus on a central spiritual message or “Bible Point,” helping children connect faith with everyday life. Adults enjoy a study built around the same theme, with teaching tailored to their stage of learning. Recreation, crafts, snacks, and art projects all reinforce the theme, while music and worship bring high-energy singing, movement, and celebration. VBS is more than a summer program—it is a joyful highlight of the church year, eagerly awaited by children, families, and volunteers alike.
