Fundraiser on Sunday, November 12. This is the youth’s one, big fundraiser for summer camp. The menu will consist of chicken stew, chili beans, cornbread and brownies. Cost is $5.00 each so plan to stay!

The Inman Veteran’s Day Parade will be Friday, November 10, at 11:00 am. Our church has 500 handheld flags to hand out prior to the parade as we show our appreciation to all of our veterans. If you would like to help, please meet at the corner of Mill and Main Streets at 10:30 am. Thanks for your help as we salute our hometown heroes!

The November shut-in supplies are available in the basement. Thank you for your faithfulness to this ministry!

The Christmas Decorating Committee, and any volunteers who would like to help, are asked to meet in the parlor this morning following the worship service

This year, our goal for the OCC Shoeboxes is 150! These boxes go all over the world for children in poverty stricken areas. Boxes are available at all bulletin stations if you haven’t already picked yours up. Our collection date is Sunday, November 12. Please note: CANDY or TOOTHPASTE can no longer be included in the boxes. This is a great project for your family, Sunday school classes, mission groups or friends at work. Thank you!

The AM sermon topic is “The Meaning of Her Gift” – Matthew 26:6-13. The PM topic is “Christians Facing Temptation” – 1 Corinthians 10:12-13.

We are rapidly approaching one of the most important events of our church year. Our Deacon election will take place on Sunday, August 13, at      11:00 am. You will be given an official ballot as you come into worship service that morning. You can write up to three names that you wish to serve on the Deaconship for the next three years. These ballots will then be counted and those elected will be announced as soon as they agree to serve. Please begin to pray about God’s leadership in this very important action. I want to remind you of some necessary qualifications for nomination to the Deaconship. He must be a church member in good standing. This means that he must be faithful in attendance to the services. He must be supportive in his giving to the support of the church. He is to have biblical standards in his family life. He is to be one who promotes his church in both his words and positive attitude. He is to have a good reputation, both in and out of the church. Above all, he is to love the Lord and the Lord’s work. Finally, please do not vote for a staff member. It would not be appropriate for a staff member to serve as a Deacon.

We currently have nine men who are serving and are not eligible for re-election as Deacon. They are as follows: Richard Chapman, Ron Fine, Paul Pace, Ronnie Dorn, Ray Varner, Tim Plummer, Bryce Rudasill, Jason Mosley, J. R. Ford. Thank you for your prayerful consideration!

Our church is collecting school supplies or donations during the next weeks for children in our local schools. You may mark your donation “school supplies” or please bring the following items: #2 pencils, colored pencils, crayons (pack of 24), glue sticks (not bottles), notebook paper, post-it notes, blunt tip scissors, pencil pouches, marble composition notebooks, 3 ring binders, dry erase markers, hand sanitizer and backpacks. Thank you for your support!

All senior adults are invited to our luncheon in the fellowship hall on Thursday, August 10, at 12:00 pm. Bring a covered dish and join us!
