PURPOSE OF FAMILY LIFE CENTER

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18

A few ideas on a future Family Life Center for Inman Mills Baptist:

  • The FLC will give us more space for our fellowship dinners and gatherings, including VBS.
  • The planned fitness room will have state of the art pneumatic exercise equipment. This equipment, if used, can increase muscle tone for the whole body. This exercise along with walking can give each of us the opportunity to feel better and function better. This can be a time of fellowship with our friends.
  • The FLC will be used as an emergency shelter in the event of a natural disaster.
  • Our youth can use the FLC as a tool to invite their friends to come and fellowship with them, giving them the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
  • The FLC can possibly offer future sports programs for the youth. This would draw youth and their families to our church, many who may be unsaved or unchurched.

GRATEFUL FOR GRACE

John Newton, a slave-ship captain who became a minister and abolitionist, had a special affinity for grace. In fact, he wrote the hymn “Amazing Grace” to celebrate the freedom that God gives to Christians. “I am not what I ought to be,” Newton said. “I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am.”

“Faith is permitting ourselves to be seized by the things we do not see.”
– Martin Luther
