Seek First

Seek first the kingdom of wealth, and you’ll worry over every dollar.  Seek first the kingdom of health, and you’ll sweat every blemish and bump.  Seek first the kingdom of popularity, and you’ll relive every conflict.  Seek first the kingdom of safety, and you’ll jump at every crack of the twig.  But seek first God’s kingdom, and you will find it.  On that, we can depend and never worry.

Baptist Men’s Day

Our men will lead in worship on Sunday, January 19, at 11:00 am.  Coach Mark Hodge will be our guest speaker.  All men are asked to meet in the chapel at 10:30 am and help fill the choir for this special service.  We look forward to this upcoming service.

Read the Bible Through in 2014

A fresh start at reading the Bible through presents itself with the coming of the New Year. We will provide our church family with a plan for reading through the Bible chronologically in a year. We will follow a weekly reading plan listed in the bulletin as well as on the Read the Bible for Life website. (http://www2.bhpublishinggroup.com/readthebible/) In addition, there will be two opportunities to meet with others to discuss the week’s readings. Please consider participating in one of these discussion groups to share what the Scripture teaches in the coming year, Sundays 4:45 – 5:45 or Tuesdays 6:30 – 7:30 pm. The first week of reading will begin on January 5th and the first meetings will be on January 12th and 14th.

A Giant Thank You

Words fail to express how much I love and appreciate you! Wednesday evening was awesome. You made the “big 80” a memorable event. I wish I could thank each of you personally, but please accept this giant “thank you!”

With love and gratitude,

Brother Jack

Girls in Action News

In honor of GA’s 100th birthday, our GA girls collected and donated 100 pairs of socks to the IMBC Clothes Closet.  The girls, grades 1st – 6th, decided on this project after learning of a missionary in Vancouver, BC Canada who ministered to the homeless by giving out clean, dry socks.  This is what ‘Girls in Action’ is all about.  THANKS, GA’s!!
